Dr. Cydney grew up dancing and doing yoga, which led to a passion for providing understanding, specific care to dancers and other performing artists. She has attended the annual International Association for Dance Medicine and Science conference twice. She is passionate about optimizing foot and ankle function, and knows that musculoskeletal health often comes from the ground up. She has experience treating professional artists and educators.

At Groove, dance medicine is not just an add-on. It's a specialty. Performing artists experience unique physical demands that go beyond what most general musculoskeletal care addresses. Hypermobility, asymmetrical movement patterns, and high repetition of complex motions require an informed approach.

Dr. Cydney knows those demands firsthand. She grew up dancing ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, and musical theater, and in college she performed and choreographed in a show every semester. Today she helps artists “catch and correct” the day-to-day postures and habits that may contribute to their symptoms, in the studio, on stage, and everywhere in between.

  • There are no open floor plans with patients being treated right next to one another.

  • She is experienced collaborating with PTs, massage therapists, trainers, and physicians, and provides vetted recommendations as appropriate.

  • She understands the biomechanical demands of physical and artistic activity, and works with you to modify movement mechanics so you can keep doing what you love, rather than simply being told to stop.

  • If she is unfamiliar with the specifics of your art or sport, she will ask questions, so your care plan fits the way you actually train, rehearse, and perform.
