Strength from Center: a FREE core and pelvis stability and mobility workshop

Your strength doesn’t start in your arms or your legs. It starts at your center.

On Wednesday, February 25 at 6:30pm, join me at the Salmon Creek Grange for a FREE community workshop designed to help you optimize core and pelvis mechanics, harness strength to improve mobility, and reduce your risk of injury. Whether you’re an athlete, dancer, parent, weekend warrior, or simply someone who wants to move better and feel stronger, this workshop is for you.

Hosted as part of the Meet & Move community series and generously supported by local partners, this event reflects Groove Chiropractic’s commitment to education, empowerment, and accessible wellness in Clark County.

What Is “Strength from Center”?

Strength from Center is a movement-based workshop focused on understanding and activating the deep muscular systems that stabilize your pelvis and spine.

Too often, people think “core strength” is achieved only through repping out crunches or planks. In reality, true core strength is about coordination, breath mechanics, pelvic alignment, and the integration of your hips, ribs, and spine. When these systems work together efficiently, everything else becomes easier: walking, lifting, running, dancing, carrying kids, and even sitting at your desk.

During this interactive session, we’ll explore:

How pelvis position influences mobility

Why deep core coordination matters more than brute strength

How to activate stabilizing muscles effectively

Practical drills you can use immediately

Injury-prevention strategies for active adults

You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of how your body generates power, and how to support it long-term.

Who Is This Workshop For?

  • Active adults in Vancouver & Clark County
  • Athletes and youth athletes
  • Dancers and performing artists
  • Parents lifting and carrying daily
  • Anyone recovering from minor injury
  • Community members curious about moving better

You do not need prior experience, special equipment, or advanced fitness knowledge. Just bring an exercise mat and drinking water.

Free childcare is generously offered for up to six children through Club Kid (registration required), helping remove barriers so caregivers can participate fully.

Why Core & Pelvis Mechanics Matter

At Groove Chiropractic, I see firsthand how many injuries stem from poor load distribution and inefficient movement patterns; not weakness alone.

When the pelvis is unstable or poorly coordinated:

  • Low back pain increases
  • Hip tension develops
  • Knees compensate
  • Ankles collapse
  • Shoulders overwork
  • Athletic performance suffers

By optimizing center stability, we improve how force transfers through the entire body. That means:

  • Better balance
  • Stronger lifts
  • Easier running
  • Reduced overuse injuries
  • More confidence in movement

This workshop blends clinical insight with practical application. You will not just be exercising, you will be learning.

Community-Centered, Accessible Wellness

Strength from Center and most sessions in the Meet & Move series are offered free of charge because community education matters. Movement shouldn’t be exclusive or expensive. It should be accessible, inclusive, and empowering.

This event is part of a larger effort to create opportunities for Clark County residents to connect, sweat, and grow together in 2026.

As a chiropractor with over a decade of experience working with athletes, dancers, collision injury patients, and active families, I believe education is preventative care. The more you understand your body, the better choices you make, and the more resilient you become.

Move Smarter, Not Just Harder

You don’t need to overhaul your entire workout routine to feel stronger. Sometimes small adjustments in coordination, breath, and alignment create the biggest impact.

Strength from Center is about working intelligently from your foundation outward, building a body that supports your goals, your sport, your work, and your daily life.
